BOEDDEKER PARK
San Francisco, CA
Note: Our Executive Director designed this playground as a Project Associate at The Trust for Public Land.
This project was part of a 3 park, $15 million initiative led by The Trust for Public Land and funded by major donations from Banana Republic, Levi Strauss Foundation, McKesson, Pacific Gas and Electric Company, and Wells Fargo Foundation.
Boeddeker Park is 1 acre, the largest public open space in the Tenderloin, the densest and poorest neighborhood in San Francisco. It was completely demolished and rebuilt, and includes a new clubhouse by WRNS Studios, play area for tots and school age kids, large lawn, full basketball court, outdoor fitness equipment, community garden areas, and rain gardens for stormwater management.
